Christopher J. Adams, Owner/Funeral Director

Chris Adams

Chris has extensive experience in the funeral service business. He began as an apprentice in 1988 at the once family-owned Everly Funeral Home in Fairfax. He attended the Cincinnati School of Mortuary Science in 1990 and was graduated with honors. Chris worked for five years with the Everly Funeral Homes and, in 1996, became the manager of the Falls Church facility.

In 1997, J. Berkley Green hired Chris to work at Green Funeral Home. After Mr. Green passed away in late 1998, Chris and his wife, Kathryn, set out to purchase the business, intent on keeping it a family-owned and operated funeral Home. They became the owners in May of 2000.

Chris grew up in Herndon and graduated from Herndon High School in 1983. He received a BS from Virginia Tech in 1987 and began his pursuit of a family-owned and operated business. Chris and Kathryn were married in 1994 and have three children, Jack, Susanna and Daley. Chris is very active in The Herndon Rotary Club.

Maureen Larsen, Funeral Director

Maureen Larsen

Born and raised in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Maureen attended Point Park College where she received her associate's degree in Mortuary Science and then pursued her diploma from the Pittsburgh Institute of Mortuary Science. After graduation, Maureen completed her internship and became a licensed funeral director in Pennsylvania in 1991. After working for several years in the Pittsburgh area, she moved and worked in Arkansas for Rubel Funeral Home. While in Arkansas, Maureen married Jeffrey Larsen and had two daughters, Alexandra and Cecilia. Maureen moved to Virginia with her family in September of 2002 and currently lives in Ashburn.

She is also a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, where she teaches Sunday School. Maureen is also a Brownie troop leader in Ashburn.

Robyne Bohn Short, Funeral Director

Originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, Robyne attended Cypress College of Mortuary Science in Southern California and was a 1993 graduate. She started her career with Messinger Mortuaries, Scottsdale Arizona in 1988 and continued with them until 2004. She was the manager of Life-Paths Funeral Home in Scottsdale from 2004 until 2005, when she was offered a job with FEMA during Hurricane Katrina, which led her to Herndon, and eventually to Adams-Green. Robyne has been a mortuary officer with the Department of Health and Human Services, Disaster Mortuary Operational Response Team (DMORT) since 1995 and has traveled to most of the major aviation accidents and natural disasters since then including the United Flight 93 incident on September 11th, which was a life changing event for her. She proudly received her Certified Funeral Service Practitioner status in 2002. Robyne resides in Sterling with her husband, Joe.

R. Bryan Allison, Funeral Director

R. Bryan Allison

Originally from Corpus Christi, Texas, Bryan enlisted in the US ARMY, and accepted an assignment with the 3rd US Infantry, "The Old Guard" and was stationed at Ft. Myer, Virginia. After completing his assignment, he began to pursue his career in funeral Service and completed his apprenticeship with Everly-Wheatly Funeral Home in Alexandria in November of 1997.

Bryan reentered Active duty in the ARMY in 2000, and served again until 2005, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant. After exiting the ARMY, he again sought to pursue his career in Funeral Service, and began work at Fairfax Memorial Funeral Home, in Fairfax for the next 4 years. Bryan attended John Tyler Community College and graduated in 2008. He has a daughter, Julia, and a wife, Carole, and resides in Clifton. Bryan is a member of multiple Masonic Bodies in Northern Virginia, including Alexandria-Washington #22, Royal Arch Chapter #14, Old Dominion Commandery #11 KT and the Alexandria Scottish Rite.

Ellen Smith, Office Manager

Ellen Smith

A native of Herndon, Ellen was born and raised one block down from the funeral home. Ellen attended school, married and raised a family in Herndon before moving in 1984 to the Shenandoah Valley where she currently resides with her husband, Ronnie.

Ellen worked in the Department of Public Works for the Fairfax County Government where she rose to the position of Engineer. After 30 years of employment, Ellen retired and accepted the position of Office Manager with the funeral home. As such, Ellen prepares and manages all the documents needed for funeral and cremation services including death certificates, permits and all service related materials. Ellen is very often the first point of contact for families.

Ellen has two daughters, Tammy and Tracey, and three grandchildren, Ronnie, Justin and Mikey.

Kathryn Parr Adams, Finance Manager

Kathryn Adams

Originally from Elgin, Illinois, Kathryn attended the University of Illinois and Washington University in St. Louis before moving to Northern Virginia in the early 1990s. Chris and Kathryn met and married, and Kathryn continued working as an Attorney for the Department of Labor and later the Internal Revenue Service. After leaving the government, Kathryn worked as a Senior Manager in Employee Benefits for Deloitte & Touche, LLP and KPMG, LLP.

Making a career shift, Kathryn assumed the responsibility of managing the financial operations at the funeral home including accounts receivable, accounts payable and payroll while raising Jack, Susanna, and Daley. She is also a member of Herndon United Methodist Church.
